Grindstaff Underground, Inc., is a second generation family owned company that was started in 1965. Its primary work in the early years was mainly the  installation of telecommunication cable and conduit. It provided quality work on time and at a fair price. In 1982 the company incorporated, but  it remained strong in telecom work while  slowly starting to branch into other utility fields, power, sewer, gas and water. In 1995 the company bought its first Directional Drill and its foray into the trenchless industry began. Now well into the 21st century, the company fleet has expanded to five Directional Drills, two Auger machines, with the capabilities for pipe ramming and pipe bursting. We perform all  size, type and manner of utility installation and rehabilitation. We have class A licenses in the states of Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and West Virginia.  We are SWAM certified, have a DOT certified drug testing plan, and regularly pass screening, and security background checks. As we progress farther into the new era, we strive to offer utility installation with the most modern top of the line equipment and technology available while maintaining the core belief of "provide a quality job on time and for a fair price."
